Tara Winthrop Activities 2017

Flower arranging was one of the activities during Nursing Homes Week 29th May – 5th June, 2017 that the residents particularly enjoyed.

Gardening during the summer in Lambay brought on a bumper crop of flowers, tomatoes and strawberries.

Woolly Wards Farm paid their annual visit to the Clinic during the summer. The expression of joy on residents faces when they see the all the small creatures is priceless.

Our residents enjoyed Forget-me-Nots Moon Afternoon Tea Dance in Malahide on the 19th of October, 2017. Our hosts looked after every detail, decoration, poetry pieces, songs, songbooks, lottery game, volunteers and there was a small gift for everyone. Everyone had a ball!

A visit from a cheeky Devil and Dracula during Halloween gave us the chills and lots of laughs too!

Dancing is a fun way to exercise but it also has added health benefits. While there have been a number of studies on the subject, a recent study conducted by researchers from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, shows that dance is the best exercise to improve a person’s cognitive skills – whatever age he might be. So rock on everyone!!

November we are preparing for Christmas, time to make the Christmas pudding and everyone gets to stir! Preparing for our annual Christmas Pageant, special thanks to the McDunphy family who turn up every year and help to make the moment magic!

Santa came had a gift for everyone.
