Forget me Not Cafe

Forget me not cafe at Tara Winthrop

Tara Winthrop Private Clinic’s residents entertained the audience at Brackenstown Forget-me-Not Café, a monthly resource for relatives and friends of people who have been diagnosed as having dementia. Deborrah Brennan, Assistant Director of Nursing at Tara Winthrop Private Clinic set up the café at the parish centre over a year ago and each month a guest speaker talks about different aspects of dementia which help the individual to understand the pathway they are on and also carers can know what to expect.

The café is shifting location to Tara Winthrop Private Clinic to a drop in coffee morning once a month with a speaker lined up to talk about physical, psychological, social aspects of the diagnosis. It also a safe space to talk about the issues and share experiences with those on the dementia journey. The next meeting of the Café takes place on Wednesday, 7th February, 2018 at 11.00am. You are welcome to attend.
